AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE NUMBER OF LIEUTENANTS
IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT UNDER P1 SERVICES PERSONAL
TO EIGHT, AND REDUCING THE NUMBER OF SERGEANTS IN
THE POLICE DEPARTMENT UNDER Pl l SERVICES PERSONAL
TO FIFTEEN AND ASSIGNING THE LIEUTENANT TO THE DE-
PARTMENT OF CIVIL DEFENSE FOR 1956
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the Civil City of South Bend,
Indiana:
SECTION I: That the appointment of an additional Lieutenant in the Police
Department be and is hereby authorized.for 1956.
SECTION II. That the reduction of one Sergeant in the Police Department
be and is hereby authorized.for 1956.
SECTION III. That the additional Lieutenant be assigned to the Department of
Civil Defense.for 1956.
SECTION IV. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage by the Common Council, its approval by the Mayor and the
fulfillment of all statutory requirements relating thereto.
