AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702
COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
(NE Corner Ironwood Drive and Edison Road)

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
Section I•
That Ordinance No. 3702, commonly known as the zoning ordinance
of the City of South Bend, Indiana, be, and is hereby amended to
zone the following described recently annexed, real estate located
in the City of South Bend, Indiana, to a "C" commercial use classification,
and a "A" height and area district classification:
Beginning at a point in the Southwest Quarter (4) of
the Southwest Quarter (a—) Section Thirty -Two (32)
Township Thirty -Eight (3Sj North, Range Three (3) East,
at the Intersection of the Center Line of Edison Road
(the present City Limits) and the Center Line of
Ironwood Drive, thence North along the Center Line of
Ironwood Drive (which is also the West Line of the
Southwest Quarter (4) of the Southwest Quarter (4), Section
Thirty -Two (32 , Township Thirty -Eight (38) North, Range
Three (3) East; to a point Six Hundred and Sixty (6601)
feet North of said Intersection, thence East parallel to
The Center Line of Edison Road which is also the South
Line of the Southwest Quarter (4) of the Southwest Quarter
((a) Nof Section Thirty -Two (32), Township Thirty -Eight
) North, Range Three (3) East) a distance of Seven Hundred
and Twenty -Six (726') feet, thence South parallel to the
Center Line of Ironwood Drive, a distance of Six Hundred
and Sixty (6601) feet to the Center Line of Edison Road,
thence West along the Center Line of Edison Road Seven
Hundred and Twenty -Six (7261) feet more or less to the
place of beginning, containing Eleven (II) Acres more or
less.
Section 2•
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its enactment, approval by the Mayor and legal publication.

The attached. petition of Robert M. Edwards, et al, to
zone the recently annexed property generally described
as being a parcel of land 660 feet north and south by
726 feet east and west at the northeast corner of
Edison and Ironwood Roads to "C" Commercial Use District
and. "A" Height and Area District was legally advertised
under date of August 28, 1961 and given public hearing
on September 7, 1961. The following action was taken:
After due consideration the Commission found
that said property was originally zoned commer-
cial while under County jurisdiction and. that
land use to the south of said property is zoned
commercial. It was therefore duly moved,
seconded, and unanimously carried that the
petition be recommended favorably to the Common
Council.
