COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE pp ��
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA &-to 6Lrna�n.,oCa
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA:
Section 1•
That a paragraph of Section 10 of Ordinance No. 3702,
(as amended), commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance of the
City of South Bend, Indiana, is hereby amended so that the
same shall hereafter be and read as follows:
9 5. A garage or carport may be.erected in a side
yar except the side yard along the side street lot
line of a corner lot provided that it is attached to
the principal building, fronts on the same street
as the principal building, and is built no closer
from a side lot line than 10 per cent of the lot
width A 6 feet, whichever is the greater, provided,
however, that this requirement need not be greater
than 12 feet. This provision shall apply to garages
and carports and to no other structure, addition, or
projection.
Section 2•
That a paragraph of Section 11 of Ordinance No. 3702,
(as amended), commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance of the
City of South Bend, Indiana, is hereby amended so that the
same shall hereafter be and read as follows:
1955. A garage or carport may De erectea in a slae
yard except the side yard along the side street lot
line of a corner lot provided that it is attached
to the principal building; fronts on the same street

Section 3:
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its enactment, approval by the Mayor and legal publi-
cation.

Gentlemen:
October 7, 1960
The attached proposed ordinance originated by the City
Planning Commission relative to Section 10 of Ordinance
No. 3702, (as amended) commonly known as the Zoning
Ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana was legally
advertised on September 26, 1960 and given public hearing
under date of October 6, 1960. The following action was
taken:
After due consideration the Commission found. that
substantial justice would be done by the amend-
ment of Ordinance No. 3702 as proposed in said
ordinance. It was therefore duly moved, seconded
and unanimously carried that the proposed ordi-
nance be approved and submitted to the Common
Council for adoption.
