AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS
IN THE SOUTH BEND - ST! JOSEPH COUNTY BUILD-
ING AUTHORITY
WHEREAS: Certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the adoption of
the existing annual budget;` so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money
than was appropriated in the annual budget for the various functions of City govern-
ment to meet such extraordinary emergencies:
,SECTION I.? BE IT ORDAINED; by the Common Council of the City of South Bend;
Indiana,, that for the expenses of the City Government and its instit-
utions for the year ending December 31 1961;` the following sums of
money are hereby appropriated and set apart out of the several funds
herein named and for the purposes herein specified;' subject to the
laws governing the same;` and such sums herein appropriated shall
be held to include all expenditures authorized to be made during the
year;,' unless otherwise expressly stipulated and provided by law.'
SECTION II -. That for said fiscal year there is hereby appropriated out of the
various City funds hereinafter named;` the following specified amounts
to meet such extraordinary emergencies; as follows:
GENERAL FUND
South Bend - St. Joseph County Building Authority $80 372.00
SECTION IHI . WHEREAS: It has been shown that certain existing appropriations
now have unobligated balances which will not be needed for the pur-
poses herein for which appropriated, it is therefore, further
ordained by the aforesaid Common Council that such unnecessary
existing appropriations are now reduced in amounts as follows:

SECTION IV:+ The said sum of $80, 372, 00 shall be submitted directly to the
South Bend - St, Joseph County Building Authority under authority
of Section 262505 to 26-2508 Burns Indiana Statutes for the State
of Indiana and that said money be turned over to the Treasurer of
the South Bend - St Joseph County Building Authority to be expended
upon approval of the Board of Directors of the Authority,
SECTION V' This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage by the Common Council, its approval, by the Mayor and
the fulfillment of all statutory requirements of emergency
appropriations,
