An Ordinance Providing for the Anncxation'of Certain Territory
To.the City of South'Bend, Indiana
Be It Ordained by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
Section 1. That the following described territory in St.Joseph County,
State of Indiana, be and the same is hereby annexed to and shall constitute here-
after a part of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
Beginning in the easterly - right- of- way,line of Michigan
Street (U.S.Highway No. 341 City of South Bend, Indiana,
where the southerly ,line of property;,iot No. Seventy -four
(74) projected easterly intersects said easterly right
of- way :line; thence west across U.S. Highway No. 3) along
a ,line common to the southerly property line of Lot No.
Seventy -four (74) and tot No. One Hundred Three (103) as
shown on the recorded Plat of Myers and Funk's Third,Plat
of Chippewa Heights Addition to the City-of South -Bend,
St.Joseph County, Indiana, as shown in Plat Book,10, page
176.of the_records.of the St.Joseph County Recorderls Of-
fice; thence continuing on.-the same line westerly across
Main Street to the westerly,line of said Main Street; thence
north along the westerly.line of Main Street to the present
city iimits; thence east along the present city limits of
the City of South Bend (being the southerly line of Barbie
Street, formerly known as Albert Street) to the easterly
right- of- way;line of Michigan Street (U.S.Highway No. 31);
thence south along the easterly right -of -way ,line of A1ich-
igan Street to the place of beginning.
Said annexation includes Lots Seventy -three (73), Seventy -
four (74), One Hundred Three 003) and One Hundred Four t104)
as shown_on the.recorded P:lat_of Myers and Funks Tbird Plat.

)ana, as shown in Plat Book 10, page-.176 of the records of
the St.Joseph County Recorder's Office; together with all of
Michigan Street and all of Main Street that abuts and is ad-
jacent to-the above described. lots.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and ,legal publication by the Common Council of the City of South
Bend, Indiana.

Gentlemen:
December 9, 1960
The attached petition of Northern Indiana Development
Company, Inc., Lowell E. Buschbaum and John W. Blenke to
annex to the City of South Bend, Indiana the following
described property: Lots Numbered Seventy -three (73),
Seventy -four (74), One Hundred Three (103), and One
Hundred Four (104), as shown on the recorded Plat of
Myers and Funk's Third. Plat of Chippewa Heights Addition
to the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the above men-
tioned real estate is immediately south of Barbie formerly
known as Albert Street between Main and Michigan Streets,
being most commonly known as 4103 and 4105 South Michigan
Street was legally advertised under date of December 5,
1960 and given public hearing under date of December 8,
1960. The following action was taken:
After due consideration the Commission found
that the proposed annexation meets with the
primary determinants of Chapter 269, Section 2
of the Acts of 1955. It was therefore duly
moved, seconded, and unanimously carried that
the petition be recommended favorably to the
Common Council.
