AN ORDINANCE ANNBSING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE
CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS,
AS AMENDED
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COIMN COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA;
Section 1•
That the following described property in Ste Joseph County, State of
Indiana, is hereby annexed to and brought within the City of South Bend,
Indiana:
Beginning at a point on the east -west centerline of Section 32,
T38N, R3E2 552 feet more or less west of the east section line
of said Section 32, which point is also on the present city limits,
thence South along the present city limits a distance of 806 feet
more or less, thence east along the present city limits a distance
of 552 feet more or less to the east section line of said Section 32,
thence north along the east section line of said Section 32, a distance
of 806 feet more or less to the east -west centerline of said Section 32,
thence west along the east - west section line of said Section 32, a dis-
tance of 552 feet more or less to the place of beginning containing
10,2 acres more or less.
Section 2:
That no Building Permit shall be issued and no change in use or change
In structures that now exist, be permitted for 180 days from the date of
adoption of this Ordinance or until the Council shall zone said property,
which ever is earlier.
Section 3•
This Ordinanca shall be in full force and effect from and after its enact-
meat, approval by the Mayor and legal publication,

The attached petition of the Common Council to annex
to the City of South Bend, Indiana a parcel of land
being generally described at 552 feet east and west by
806 feet north and south at the southwest corner of
Hepler Street and Hickory Road was legally advertised
under date of July 24, 1962 and given public hearing on
August 2, 1962. The following action was taken:
After due consideration the Commission found
that in their opinion the six determinants of
the annexiation apply to the area in issue. It
was therefore duly moved, seconded, and unanimously
carried that the petition be recommended favorably
to the Council on the condition that no Building
Permit shall be issued by the Building Commissioner
and no change in use or bulk of structures existing
shall occur until the area has been properly zoned
by the City Council or a period of 180 days from
the effective date of the ord- inance has lapsed.
