AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE
CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEAD, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA:
Section 1:
That the following described property in St. Joseph
County, State of Indiana, is hereby annexed to and brought
within the City of South Bend, Indiana:
Beginning at a point on the south line of Section
329 T38N, R3E, (the present city limits) 581.20
feet, more or less, west of the east line of said
Section 32, thence north a distance of 1,331 feet,
more or less, to the north line of the south half
of the Southeast One Quarter of said Section 32,
thence east 581.20 feet; more or less, to the east
line of said Section 32, thence north along the
east line of said Section 32 a distance of 275:5
feet, more or less, to the present city limits,
thence west along the present city limits a dis-
tance of 834.53 feet, more or less, thence south
along the present city limits a distance of 275.5
feet, more or less, thence west along the present
city limits a distance of 1,320 feet, more or less,
thence south along the present city limits a dis-
tance of 1,110 feet, more or less, thence west
along the present city limits a distance of 75
feet, more or less, thence south along the present
city limits a distance of 220 feet, more or less, to
the south line of said Section 32, thence east
along the south line of said Section 32 to the place
of beginning containing 52.6 acres, more or less.
Section 2:
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its enactment, approval by the Mayor and legal
publication.

The attached petition of the Common Council to annex
to the City of South Bend, Indiana 52.6 acres, more or
less, in the Southeast One Quarter of Section 32, T38N,
R3E, being generally described as bounded on the south
by Edison Road, on the east by Edison Road Addition and
Logan Street (Hickory Road), and on the north and west
by the present city limits was legally advertised under
date of June 25, 1962 and. given public hearing on July
51 1962. The following action was taken:
After due consideration the Commission found
that the six determinants of annexation exist.
It was therefore duly moved, seconded, and
unanimously carried. that the petition be recom-
mended favorably to the Council.
