LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS
IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,

Section 1•
That the following described property in St. Joseph
County, State of Indiana, is hereby annexed to and brought
within the City of South Bend, Indiana:
Beginning at a point in the Southwest One
Quarter of Section 27, T38N, R2E, at the in-
tersection of the present city limits and the
centerline of Lathrop Street, which centerline
is also the south line of the Southwest One
Quarter of said Section 27, thence west along
the centerline of Lathrop Street a distance
of 1,987 feet, more or less, to the east rights
of -way line of Maple Road, thence north along
the east right -of -way line of Maple Road a
distance of 2,661 feet, more or less, to the
north line of the Southwest One Quarter of
said Section 27, thence east along the north
line of the Southwest One Quarter of said
Section 27 a distance of 1,407 feet, more or
less, to the present city limits, thence south
along the present city limits a distance of
680 feet, more or less, thence east along the
present city limits a distance of 580 feet,
more or less, thence south along the present
city limits a distance of 2,081 feet, more or
less, to the place of beginning, containing
114 acres, more or less.
Section 2:
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its enactment, approval by the Mayor and legal publica-

The attached petition of the Tri Valley Council, Inc.,
Boy Scouts of America and the Indiana and Michigan
Electric Company to annex to the City of South Bend,
Indiana a parcel of land being bounded on the south by
Douglas Road (also known as Lathrop Avenue), on the west
by Maple Road, on the north by the present city limits
extended west (also known as the east -west centerline
of Section 27, T38N, R2E), and on the east by the pre-
sent city limits containing approximately 114 acres was
legally advertised under date of January 23, 1962 and
given public hearing on February 1, 1962. The following
action was taken:
After due consideration the Commission found
that the six determinants of annexation exist.
It was therefore duly moved, seconded, and
unanimously carried that the petition be recom-
mended favorably to the Council.
