AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE
CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS
IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA:
That the following described property in St. Joseph
, State of Indiana, is hereby annexed to and brought within
City of South Bend, Indiana:

Beginning at a point 1788.0 feet, more or less, East of
the West line of Section 30, Township 37 North, Range 3
East, on the North line of the South half of the South
half of said Section 30; thence East 2140.0 feet, more or
less, along the said North line of the South half of the
South half of said Section 30, to the Northeast corner of
the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of said
Section 30; thence South 1320 feet, more or less, along
the East line of the said Southwest Quarter of the South-
east Quarter to the South line of Section 30; thence
West 2146.0 feet, more or less, along the said South line
of Section 30, to a point 826 feet West of the South
Quarter Section corner; thence North 1320 feet, more or
less, to the place of beginning, containing 65 acres,
more or less.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
its enactment,
approval by the Mayor and legal publication.

The attached petition of Place and Company, Inc, to
annex to the City of South Bend a parcel of land being
bounded on the north by the present City Limits or the
south line of Scottsdale Addition, on the east by a
line 1,320 feet west of Ironwood Road, on the south by
the centerline of Jackson Road, and on the west by a
line 1,788 feet east of Miami Road, said parcel con-
taining 65 acres, more or less, was legally advertised
under date of October 23, 1961 and given public hearing
on November 2, 1961. The following action was taken:
After due consideration the Commission was
of the opinion that the five determinants of
annexation exist. It was therefore duly moved,
seconded, and unanimously carried that the
petition be recommended favorably to the Com-
mon Council.
