BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA:
Section 1•
That Zoning Ordinance No. 3702, as heretofore amended and
supplemented, be and the same is hereby amended and supple-
mented by zoning as "E" Heavy Industrial Use and "A" Height and
Area District the following described property:
Beginning at a point on the north right -of -way line
of Ireland Road at the intersection of the east
right -of -way line of the Pennsylvania Railroad and
the north -south centerline of Section 26, T37N,
R2E, thence north along the north -south centerline
of said Section 26 to a point'20O feet south of the
north line of said Section 26, thence east parallel
with and 200 feet south of the north line of said
Section 26 to the east right -of -way line of the
Pennsylvania Railroad, thence southwest along the
east right -of -way line of the Pennsylvania Railroad
to the place of beginning containing 38.9 acres,
more or less.
Section 2:
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its enactment, approval by the Mayor and legal
publication.

The attached proposed ordinance originated by the City
Planning Commission to zone "E" Heavy Industrial Use and.
''A" Height and Area District the recently annexed land .
being generally described as a triangular parcel of land .
being bounded on the east by the east right -of -way line
of the Pennsylvania Railroad, on the north by a line 200
feet south of Chippewa Avenue, and on the west by a line
extended north from the intersection of the east right -
of -way line of the Pennsylvania Railroad and the north
right -of -way line of Ireland Road was legally advertised
under date of May 28, 1962 and given public hearing on
June 14, 1962. The following action was taken:
After due consideration the Commission found
that the best use for the area in question
would be industrial. It was therefore duly
moved, seconded., and unanimously carried that
the petition be recommended favorably to the
Council.
