AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702
COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
(1900 Block of 4%r&1b1He Boulevard)
Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
South Bend, Indiana:
Section I. Ordinance No. 3702, being the zoning
ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana, be, and the same
hereby is amended so that the zoning classification of the
following described real est1e in the City of South Bend, St.
Joseph County, Indiana, towit:
Lots Numbered Four (4), Five (5) and Six (6)
as shown on the recorded Plat of B. F. Dunn's
Subdivision of Lot A in his First Addition to
River Park, now in and a part of the City of
South Bend.
Also the following parcel of real estate adjoining
the above described real estate on the West:
Beginning on the South Line of North Side Boulevard
(formerly Pleasant Street) at the Northwest corner
of Lot Numbered Six (6) Dunn's Subdivision of
Lot A: Thence Southwest along the Southerly line
of North Side Boulevard to a point due South of a
point four hundred tbirty -seven (437) feet West
of the Southeast corner of Lot Numbered Twenty -four
(24) Hammond and Whitcomb's Addition to City of
South Bend: thence South to St. Joseph River; thence
upstream with St. Joseph River to Southwest corner
of Lot Numbered Six (6) Dunn's Subdivision of Lot A;
thence North to place of beginning. The land
thereby conveyed being all that parcel of land lying
South of North Side Boulevard, West of Lot Numbered
Six (6) Dunn's Subdivision of Lot A and North of
St. Joseph River and conveyed by Eddy N. Shank and
Mary J. Shank to George J. Hoffman by deed dated
January 13, 1919, and recorded April 28, 1919 in
Deed Record 160, page 118, in the Recorder's Office
of St. Joseph County, Indiana, except therefrom
parts of Lots Four (4) and Five (5) described as
follows: Beginning at an iron at the North East
corner of said Lot Four (4); thence West along the
North line of said Lots Numbered Four (4) and Five
(5) to an iron 33 feet Whet of the North East corner
of said Lot Numbered Five (5); thence South 41.4
feet to an iron; thence East 24.5 feet to an iron;

said Lot Number Four (4); thence North 74.5 feet

engineer, dated November 11, 1958.

The attached petition of the Riverview Development Com-
pany to rezone a parcel of land in the 1900 block of
Northside Boulevard being bounded on the north by North -
side Boulevard and on the south by the St. Joseph River
from "B" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area Dis-
trict to "B" Residential Use and "C" Height and Area
District was legally advertised under date of January
22t 1962 and given public hearing on February 1, 1962.
The following action was taken:
After due consideration the Commission found
that substantial justice would be done by
the granting of the petition and that the
proposed. apartment building would be an asset
to the City of South Bend. It was therefore
duly moved, seconded, and unanimously carried
that the petition be recommended favorably
to the Council.
