AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND
APPROPRIATING $1,800,000.00 FROM THE
LOCAL ROADS AND STREETS FUND (FUND N0.251)
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to meet existing and proposed traffic demands and to provide for safe and
efficient movement of vehicles, certain improvements are needed on Lincolnway West within
the City of South Bend, Indiana. The appropriated sum of $1,800,000 will pay for design,
construction, and appurtenant work to reconstruct and resurface Lincolnway West in two
phases, from Eclipse to Elmer and from Elmer to Lafayette.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The following sum of money is hereby appropriated and ordered set apart
from the Local Roads and Streets Fund (#251) for the specified project in the amount set forth
below:

SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
by the Common Council and approval of the Mayor.

Dear President Pfeifer:
The Department of Public Works is requesting your favorable consideration of the attached
ordinance appropriating fund from the Local Roads and Streets Accounts for the Lincolnway West
Improvements projects., Phases I and II.
This project is for reconstruction and resurfacing of Lincolnway West in two phases, from
Eclipse to Elmer and from Elmer to Lafayette. These funds will continue the design, construction,
and appurtenant work.
