ORDINANCE N0. 4544 - - -63 i AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA i BE IT ORDAINED, by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: SECTION I. Ordinance No. 3702, being the Zoning Ordi- nance of the City of South Bend, Indiana, be, and tlm same is I amended so that the zoning classification of the real estate located in the City of South Bend, County of St. Joseph, State �i of Indiana, described as follows, to wit: Ili Beginning on the South line of Elwood Avenue in the City of South Bend at a point 372 feet East of the West line of said Section No. 2; thence South 1138 feet; thence East 408 feet; thence South 332.9 feet to the Northwesterly right -of -way line of The New York Central �i Railroad (formerl y Chicago, South Bend and Southern Railroad); thence Northeasterly �j along the said Northwesterly right -of -way line a distance of 338.54 feet; thence North to a point 700 feet South of the South line LI of Elwood Avenue; thence West 500 feet; thence North 700 feet to the South line of Elwood Avenue; thence West approximately 128 feet to the place of beginning. i Except for a parcel of said real estate owned �i in fee simple by Indiana & Michigan Electric Company, beginning on the South line of E1- wood Avenue at a point 20 feet South and 372 feet East of the Northwest corner of said Section 2; thence East 73 feet; thence South 70 feet; thence West 73 feet; thence North 70 feet to the place of beginning, I ,I be, and the same is hereby changed from an "A" Residence Use j. HUFF The attached petition of Drewrys Limited U.S.A. to rezone from "A" Residential Use District and "A" Height and Area District to I'D" Light Industrial Use District and 'IF" Height and Area District the property being generally described as an irregular shaped parcel of property fronting on Elwood Avenue east of Wilber Street and adjoining the realty of Drewrys Limited on the east and running southerly and easterly to the right -of -way line of the New York Central Railroad was legally advertised under date of November 26, 1962 and given public hearing on December 6, 1962. The following action was taken: After due consideration the Commission found that the best zoning for the subject property would be light industrial.
