AN ORDINANCE ZONING A NEWLY ANNEXED TRACT NOW WITHIN AND
A PART OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND INDIANA
Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana;
Section 1
That the following described real estate in the City of South Bend, Indi-
ana, to -wit:
The East Half (1/2) of the North Half (1/2) of the Southwest Quarter
(1/4) of Section Twenty (20), Township Thirty -seven (37) North,
Range Three (3) East, containing Forty (40) acres, more or less,
excepting therefrom a parcel of land in the center thereof Five
Hundred (500) feet in length, North and South, and Five Hundred
(500) feet in width, East and West, which parcel is bounded by
a line running as follows, to -wit:
Starting at a point Four Hundred Ten (410) feet West of the North -
South center line of said Section Twenty -(20) and Four Hundred
Ten (410) feet South of the East -West center line of said section;
thence West parallel with the East -West centerline of said section
a distance of Five Hundred (500) feet; thence South parallel with
the North -South center line of said section a distance of Five
Hundred (500) feet; thence East Five Hundred (500) feet; thence
North Five Hundred (500) feet to the place of beginning,
be and the same is hereby zoned "B" Residential Use District and "F" Height
and Area District.
Section 2
That the following described real estate in the City of South Bend, Indi-
ana, to -wit:
A parcel of land in the center of the East Half (1/2) of the North
Half (1/2) of the Southwest Quarter (1/4) of Section Twenty (20),
Township Thirty -seven (37) North, Range Three (3) East, which
parcel is bounded by a line running as follows, to -wit:

iana, to -wit:
The West Half (1/2) of the North Half (1/2) of the Southwest
Quarter (1/4) of Section Twenty (20), Township Thirty -seven
(37) North, Range Three (3) East, containing Forty (40) acres,
more or less and subject to all legal highways, and which land
is bounded by a line running as folbws, to -wit:
Starting on the East -West center line of said Section Twenty (20)
at a point One Thousand Three Hundred Twenty (1,320) feet West
of the center of said section; thence West along said East -West
centerline a distance of One Thousand Three Hundred Twenty
(1,320) feet to the center line of Ironwood Highway; thence
South along the centerline of said highway a distance of One
Thousand Three Hundred Twenty (1,320) feet; thence East
parallel with the East -West center line a distance of One Thousand
Three Hundred Twenty (1,320) feet; thence North One Thousand
Three Hundred Twenty (1,320) feet to the place of beginning,
be and the same is hereby zoned "A" Residential Use District and "A" Height
and Area District.
Section 4
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, and after its approval by the

The attached petition of Ramco, Inc. to zone the recently
annexed 80 acres in the north half of the southwest one-
quarter of Section 20, T37N, R3E, the east 40 acres to
"B" Residential Use and "F" Height and Area District,
except a tract in the center, 500 feet north and south
and 500 feet east and west to be zoned "C -1" Commercial
Use and "F" Height and Area District and that the
westerly half be zoned "A" Residential Use District and
"A" Height and Area District was legally advertised
under date of November 26, 1962 and given public hearing
on December 6, 1962. The following action was taken:
After due consideration the Commission found
that the requested zoning would be the best
zoning for the subject property. It was therefore
duly moved, second 4 and unanimously carried
that the petition be recommended favorably to
the Council subject to meets and bounds descriptions
on the three (3) areas involved.
