PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING
ORDINANCE NO. 3702 AS HERETOFORE AMENDED_AND SUPPLEMENTED
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Indiana:
SECTION I. That Zoning Ordinance No. 3702 as heretofore
amended and supplemented be and the same is hereby amended and supplemented
by zoning as "C" Commercial Use District and "E "Height and Area District
the following described property:
A tract of land located in the Northeast 1/4 of the
Southeast 1/4 of Section 8, Township 37 North, Range
2 East, South Bend, Indiana, more particularly described
as follows:
Beginning at a point on the East line of Summit Drive
332.83 feet South of the South line of Western Avenue;
thence continuing South along said East line 390 feet
more or less to the South line of the Belleville Shop-
ping Center4 thence East along said South line 336 feet
more or less; thence Northerly along a line 370 feet
more or less to a point 420 feet more or less East of
said East line of Summit Drive; thence West along a line
parallel with said South line of Belleville Shopping
Center 420 feet more or less to the place of beginning.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Indiana, approval by the Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and
legal publication.

Gentlemen:
The attached petition of the Belleville Investment Company
Inc. to rezone from "B" Residential Use and 'IB" Height and
Area District to "C" Commercial Use and "E" Height and Area
the property being generally described as bounded on the
west by a north —south line 420 feet, more or less, east of
Summit Drive, on the west by Summit Drive, on the north
by a property line 332 feet, more or less, south of Western
Avenue, and on the south by a property line north of Ford
Street was legally advertised under date of August 26, 1963
and given public hearing on September 5, 1963. The following
action was taken:
After due consideration the Commission found
thUt the requested zoning was the most reasonable
for the subject area. It was therefore duly
moved, seconded, and unanimously carried that
the petition be recommended favorably to the
Council.
