AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING 590,000 WITHIN THE U.D.A.G. FUND
(FUND 410) OF THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING PREDEVELOPMENT
COSTS FOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS WITHIN, THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND.
Statement of Purpose and Intent:
In order to assure the efficient. and timely utilization of Urban Development Action
Grant Reimbursement Funds and to further the implementation of the redevelopment
plans within the City, certain appropriations are necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I. The sum of 590,000 is hereby appropriated within Fund 410 for
Predevelopment work for calendar year 2001.
SECTION I1. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

Dear Council Member:
The attached bill for your consideration and approval will appropriate $90,000 of Urban
Development Action Grant reimbursement funds for Predevelopment costs for pending
development projects within the City. As we have discussed previously, predevelopment
costs include items such as: market studies, appraisals, preliminary site plans, surveys,
title work, environmental studies, etc. which are necessary tc determine the feasibility of
a project and determine whether it can/should proceed.
Jon Hunt will make presentation to the Council at your April 23'd meeting.
