AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, AMENDING SALARY ORDINANCE NUMBER 9137-00 FOR ANON-
BARGAINING EMPLOYEE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND FOR THE CALENDAR
YEAR 2001.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
The City's legislative body is required to fix the annual compensation of all employees of the
City of South Bend. Following is a position and rate of pay which the South Bend Parks and
Recreation Department is seeking to amend from the original Salary Ordinance as approved by
this body in 2000.
The following establishes the amended compensation rate for the General Curator position
of the Potawatomi Park Zoo of the City of South Bend for calendar year 2001.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Indiana, as follows:
Section I. The annual compensation for the following employee shall be as amended as
follows:
Budgeted Amended
2001 2001
General Curator, Potawatomi Park Zoo $ 31,050.00 $35,000.00
Section II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the
Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

Please find attached for filing an ordinance which amends the Salary Ordinance
Director of Concessions for the General Curator position at the Potawatomi Park Zoo of the City of South
Matthew Moyers Bend. This position has been vacant since Mr. Clarence Wright took over as
299-4765 interim director of the Potawatomi Park Zoo in June 2000. This request to amend
that ordinance is to make the salary commensurate with that of General Curators
:Maintenance Superintendent at others zoos of comparable size to Potawatomi Park Zoo. We anticipate this
