AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE I, SECTION 19 -6,
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, 1962, THE SAME PERTAINING TO HOTELS,
LODGING HOUSES AND ROOMING HOUSES AND THE RIGHT
OF THE ENTRY OF INSPECTORS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I. That Section 6 of Chapter 19 of the Municipal
Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana, 1962, be and it is here-
by repealed.
SECTION II. In lieu of the section repealed by Section 1
of this ordinance, the following is hereby substituted and enacted:
Section 19 -6 - Right of entry of Inspectors.
Inspectors of the Health Department and representatives
of the Fire Department shall have the right from time to time to
make inspection tours of hotels, rooming houses and lodging
houses, within the City at all reasonable hours for the purpose
of enforcing, when necessary, the sanitary and fire prevention
laws and regulations of the City and of the State. All inspec-
tors of the Health Department and representatives of the Fire
Department shall have exhibited to them, upon demand by them, the
license issued by the City of South Bend authorizing the operation
of said establishment.
SECTION III. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect upon its passage by the Common Council, approval by the
Mayor, and legal publication.
