AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE SPEED OF TRAINS
WITHIN THE MUNICIPAL CITY AND FORBIDDING THE
SOUNDING OF A RAILROAD LOCOMOTIVE WHISTLE OR
RAILROAD LOCOMOTIVE HORN WITHIN THE MUNICIPAL
CITY AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
THEREWITH.'
Be it ordained by the Common Council of the Municipal
City of South Bend, Indiana, that:
1. Any ordinances in conflict with the following are
hereby repealed and specifically repealed are sections designated
as 31 -2 and 31 -8 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend,
Indiana, 1962. In lieu thereof, the following are enacted.
2. No railroad or electric train company or person
shall run or cause to be run any train with or without cars
within the City at a greater sate of speed than twenty miles
per hour.
3. It shall be unlawful for any person running or
controlling any locomotive or electric train in this City to
sound the whistle or horn thereof, or allow the same to be
sounded, within the City.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after passage by the Council, approval by the Mayor, and
compliance with all statutory requirements.
