AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN
AS THG ZONING ORDINANCE OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Section 1. Ordinance No. 3702, being the zoning ordinance of
the City of South Bend, be, and the sumo hereby is amended so that the zoning
Classification of the following described real estate in the City of South Bend,
St. Joseph County, Indiana, to wit:
Lot Numbered Eighteen (18) as shown on
the recorded Plat of Swygort's Third
Addition of the City of South Bond, recorded
In Plat Book 7, age 34, except Fiftp- -two
and One -Half (82-) feot off tha entire north
end thereof.

and Area District to "C" Commercial District and "B" Height and Area District.
Section II. This ordinance shall be in fall force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council, approved by the Mayor and
Legal Publication.

The attached petition of James J. and John Gruber to
rezone the property at 1845 Prairie Avenue was legally
advertised under date of June 22, 1964 and given public
hearing on July 2, 1964. The following action was
taken:
After due consideration the Commission found
that the proposed rezoning would tend to
devaluate the surrounding property and would
result in spot zoning. It was therefore duly
moved, seconded and carried that the petition
be recommended unfavorably to the Council.
