AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE
CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA:
Section l:
That the following described property in St. Joseph
County, State of Indiana, is hereby annexed to and brought within
the City of South Bend, Indiana:
A tract of land in the Northeast Quarter (') of
Section 31, Township 37 North, Range 3 East,
Centre Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana, more
particularly described as follows. Beginning at
a point 400 feet South of the Northwest corner of
said Northeast Quarter (4) of said Section 31•
thence East a distance of 523 feet on a line 400
feet South of and parallel to the north line of
said Section 31, to the Northwest corner of the
4 -H Fairgrounds property; thence South a distance
of 837.5 feet along the West property line of the
Fairgrounds; thence West a distance of 523 feet
to the West line of said Northeast Quarter (u);
thence North on the West line of said Northeast
Quarter (u) a distance of 837.5 feet to the Point
of Beginning, excluding therefrom that part of the
aforementioned real estate that is now situated
within the City of South Bend.
Section 2:
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its enactment, approval by the Mayor and legal publication.

The attached petition of the Crest Manor Development
Corporation to annex to the City o o n Tsndiana
a rectangular parcel of land lying 400 feet South of the
centerline of Jackson Road and 165 feet East of the
centerline of York Road, containing 6.88 acres, more or
less, was legally advertised under date of March 222 1965
and given public hearing on April 1, 1965• The following
action was taken:
After due consideration the Commission found
that the six determinants of annexation apply
to the area in issue. It was therefore duly
moved, seconded, and unanimously carried that
the petition be recommended favorably to the
Council.
