In June of this year, the Commission took possession of the medical office building at 1010 Bendix
Dri~~e, o~~~ned by St .Ioseph Regional Medical Center, and authorized a budget of up to 5488.000 of
AEDA TIF funds for the renovation of the i~uility to become a premiere }?hysician~s ofiicc ser~in~~
the West Side of South Bend, through a partnership of St Joe and Memorial Hospital Cost estimates
~~~erc recognized at the time to be conservative and to include prop ision for addressing some
unknowns about the building and site, including HVAC systems and storm~~~ater retention.
The Board of Public Works ~~~as named the authorized a~*ent of the Conunission to bid and award the
conU~act. I am pleased to report that this past ~s'eek. bids ~~~ere opened and a contract ~m~ill be a~~^<arded
to H.G. Christman c~ C,o in the amount of 5346,000.
