ORDINANCE N0, 4788 -65
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF
CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
SECTION I. That the following described territory in St. Joseph
County, State of Indiana, be and the same is hereby annexed to and shall
constitute hereafter a part of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
A tract of land situated in the North half of Section 31,
Township 37 North, Range 3 East, described as beginning at
a point on the West line of the Northeast Quarter of said
Section 31, 1237.5 feet South of the Northwest corner of
said Northeast Quarter; thence West 610.00 feet along the
existing City limits; thence North 152.50 feet; thence West
735.00 feet, more or less, to the East line of Crest Manor
Subdivision's 3rd Addition; thence South 215.00 feet along
the East line of Crest Manor 3rd; thence East 329.98 feet
along the North line of Crest Manor Subdivision 5th Addition;
thence West 39.66 feet to a point which is the Southwest
corner of Lot 81 of Crest Manor Subdivision 6th Addition;
thence 238.00 feet Northeasterly along the boundary of
Crest Manor 6th Addition; thence 356.97 feet Southeasterly
along the boundary of Crest Manor 6th Addition; thence
Northeasterly 94.69 feet along the South boundary of Crest
Manor Section 8 proposed; thence East 680.00 feet along
the South boundary of Section 8 proposed; thence North
80.00 feet, more or less, along a line parallel and 165.00
feet East of the West line of said Northeast Quarter Section
to the existing City limits; thence West along the existing
City limits 165.00 feet to the Point of Beginning.
SECTION II, This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Indiana, approval by the Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and
legal publication.

The attached petition of the Crest Manor Development Corp.
to annex to the City of South Bend, Indiana 4.47 acres of
land in the North One -half of Section 31, T37N, R3E, which
tract is situated approximately one - fourth of a mile
south of Jackson Road in the vicinity of York Road as the
same will be extended southward from Jackson Road was
legally advertised under date of July 26, 1965 and given
public hearing on August 5, 1965. The following action
was taken: 1.
After due consideration the Commission found
that, in their opinion, the six determinants
of annexation apply to the area at issue. It
was therefore duly moved, seconded, and
unanimously carried that.the petition be
recommended favorably to the Council.

meeting of the Council the following matter was referred to you for appropriate disposal of for
specific action as indicated:
Petition of Crest Manor Development Corporation to annex
4.47 acre tract in Centre Township a quarter mile south of
Jackson Road near York Road.
Councilman Smith made a motion that the petition be referred
to the City Planning Commission, Councilman Muszynski seconded
the motion. Motim- carried.
