AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTINGWest of Harris St.
ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA:
Section 1:
That Zoning Ordinance No. 3702, as heretofore amended,
be and the same is hereby amended and supplemented by changing
the zoning classification of the following described Aroperty
from "E" Heavy Industrial Use and "F" Height and Area District
to "A -1" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District:
Lots 7 -14 inclusive of Harris' 1st Sub, of the
north part of B.O.L. 97, lots 15 -38 inclusive
of Harris' 2nd Sub..of part of B.O.L. 97, also
lots 39 -49 inclusive of Harris' 3rd Sub. of part
of B.O.L. 97, and lots 7 -24 inclusive and lots
30 -45 inclusive of Susan M. Stokes Sub. of
B.O.L. 96; being more generally described as a
parcel of land located between Western Avenue
on the North, the Grand Trunk Railroad right -of
way on the South, the alley East of Walnut on
the East, and the alley West of Harris Street
on the West.
Section 2:
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its enactment, approval by the Mayor, and legal
publication.

The attached petition of the City Planning Commission to
rezone from "E" Heavy Industrial Use and "F" Height and
Area District to "A -1" Residential Use and "A" Height and
Area District the property generally described as a parcel
of land located between Western Avenue on the North, the
Grand Trunk Railroad right -of -way on the South, the alley
East of Walnut on the East and the alley West of Harris
Street on the West was legally advertised under date of
June 21, 1965 and given public hearing on July 1, 1965.
The following action was taken:
After due consideration the Commission found
that the proposed zoning would help to preserve
the existing character of the area. It was
therefore duly moved, seconded, and unanimously
carried that the petition be recommended
favorably to the Council.
