AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING south of Western, on
West by first alley
ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 west of Harris St.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA:
Section 1•
That Zoning Ordinance No. 3702, as heretofore amended,
be and the same is hereby amended and supplemented by changing
the zoning classification of the following described property
from "E" Heavy Industrial Use and "F" Height and Area District
to "C" Commercial Use and "E" Height and Area District:
Lots 1 -6 inclusive of Harris' 1st Sub. of the
north part of B.O.L. 97, lots 1 -6 inclusive
of Susan M. Stokes Sub. of B.O.L. 96; being
more generally described as bounded on the
north by Western Avenue, on the East by the
alley east of Walnut, on the South by the
first alley south of Western Avenue and on
the west by the first alley ?Nest of Harris
Street.
Section 2•
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its enactment, approval by the Mayor, and legal
publication.

The attached petition of the City Planning Commission to
rezone from "E" Heavy Industrial Use and "F" Height and
Area District to "C" Commercial Use and "E" Height and
Area District the property generally described as bounded
on the north by Western Avenue, on the East by the alley
east of Walnut Street, on the South by the first alley
south of Western Avenue and on the west by the first
alley West of Harris Street was legally advertised under
date of June 21, 1965 and given public hearing on July
1, 1965. The following action was taken:
After due consideration the Commission found
that the proposed zoning would be in the best
interest of the subject property. It was
therefore duly moved, seconded, and unanimously
carried that the petition be recommended
favorably to the Council.
