Boil advisory lifted
South Bend Water Works has lifted the boil advisory, issued this past Sunday, for the area
bounded by Brick Rd on the north, Portage on the west, Riverside on the east, and Lathrop on the
south. The City had issued a “boil advisory” as a precaution, following the water main break at
Boland Drive on Sunday afternoon. The City has continued monitoring the system for the past 72
hours and all tests have been normal throughout this period.
This action is standard policy in the water industry as a result of a main break, and again,
was issued as an extra precaution following the drop in pressure. The city thanks all residents for
their cooperation during this time.
