CITY CLERK, SOUTH BEND, IND.
CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA:
Section 1:
That the following described property in St. Joseph
County, State of Indiana, is hereby annexed to and brought
within the City of South Bend, Indiana:
A tract of land situated in the north one -half
of Sections 26 and 27, of T38N, R2E, containing
167.79 acres, more or less, and described hereinunder
as`'follows: Beginning in said Section 27 at the
intersection of the present city limits 35 feet
west of the centerline of Portage Road and the
southerly right -of -way line of the Northern
Indiana Toll Road, thence east along said southerly
right -of -way line to the intersection of said
southerly right -of -way line and the present city
limits in said Section 26, thence southerly, thence
westerly, thence northerly, thence easterly, thence, st & 2nd READING W /"/. -66s
northwesterly along the present city limits to

This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its enactment, approval by the Mayor, and legal
publication.

The attached petition of the ommon cil to annex to
the City of South Bend, Indiana approximately 167.79 acres,
more or less, generally between Colfax Road and the
Northern Indiana Toll Road and bounded on the east, south
and west by the present city limits and fronting on Portage
Road was legally advertised under date of May 24, 1965 and
given public hearing on June 3, 1965. The following action
was taken:
After due consideration the Commission found
that in their opinion the six determinants of
annexation apply to the area.' It was therefore
duly moved, seconded, and unanimously carried
that the petition be recommended favorably to
the Council.
