ORDINANCE NO. \ 2 ~2 --O ~
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND
APPROPRIATING $8,640.00 IN DONATED FUNDS FROM HUMAN RIGHTS
FEDERAL FUND (#258) TO PAY EXCESS EXPENSES OF HUMAN RIGHTS
AWARENESS AND AWARDS BANQUET
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
The Human Rights Commission sponsored a highly successful Human Rights Awareness
and Awards Banquet, and it raised funds totaling $8,640.00 from corporate sponsors to pay costs of
the banquet. These funds are presently in account number 258-0000-367-0000.
This Common Council previously appropriated $2,000.00 which is inadequate to pay the
costs of the banquet and thus, all funds raised from corporate sponsors in account number 258-0000-
367-0000 should be appropriated and set apart within Human Rights Federal Fund (#258) to pay the
costs of the Human Rights Awareness and Awards Banquet.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. The sum of $8,640.00 is ordered appropriated from and set aside within Human
Rights Federal Fund (#258) for payment of excess expenses of the Human Rights Awareness and
Awards Banquet.
Section II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the
Common Council and approval by the Mayor.
