HomeMy WebLinkAboutAppropriating $8,640 in Donated funds from HRights Fed Fund #258 to pay expenses of HRights awareness/awards banquetORDINANCE No. Passed by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana August 13, Attest: Attest: 20 01 Presented by me to the Mayor of the City of Soutlt Bend, Indiana August 14, Zp 01 City Clerk President of Common Cor~ncil City Clerk Approved and signed by me August 15, 20 01 Mcrynr ORDINANCE NO. \ 2 ~2 --O ~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND APPROPRIATING $8,640.00 IN DONATED FUNDS FROM HUMAN RIGHTS FEDERAL FUND (#258) TO PAY EXCESS EXPENSES OF HUMAN RIGHTS AWARENESS AND AWARDS BANQUET STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT The Human Rights Commission sponsored a highly successful Human Rights Awareness and Awards Banquet, and it raised funds totaling $8,640.00 from corporate sponsors to pay costs of the banquet. These funds are presently in account number 258-0000-367-0000. This Common Council previously appropriated $2,000.00 which is inadequate to pay the costs of the banquet and thus, all funds raised from corporate sponsors in account number 258-0000- 367-0000 should be appropriated and set apart within Human Rights Federal Fund (#258) to pay the costs of the Human Rights Awareness and Awards Banquet. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: Section I. The sum of $8,640.00 is ordered appropriated from and set aside within Human Rights Federal Fund (#258) for payment of excess expenses of the Human Rights Awareness and Awards Banquet. Section II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.
