ORDINANCE NO. 4919 -67
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION III OF AN ORDINANCE
NO. 4926 -67 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING THAT
IT IS IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST TO ACQUIRE THE MASS
TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM OF NORTHERN INDIANA TRANSIT, INC.,
WHICH SHALL BE A DISTINCT MUNICIPAL CORPORATION AND
WHICH SHALL BE KNOWN AS "THE SOUTH BEND PUBLIC TRANS-
PORTATION CORPORATION" AND DEFINING THE CORPORATE
LIMITS OF SAID CORPORATION ", AND PROVIDING THAT SAID
CORPORATION SHALL HAVE A BOARD OF DIRECTORS CONSISTING
OF SEVEN MEMBERS,
WHEREAS, heretofore on the 12th day of June, 1967, the Common
Council passed an ordinance creating a South Bend Public Transportation
Corporation and,
WHEREAS, said ordinance provides that said Corporation shall have a
Board of Directors consisting of five members and,
WHEREAS, it has now been determined that the South Bend Public
Transportation Corporation could more effectively carry out the purposes
for which it was organized with a Board of Directors consisting of
seven in number.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I. That Section III of Ordinance 4926 -67 is hereby amended
so as to read "that said corporation shall have a Board of Directors
consisting of seven in number."
SECTION IT. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption by the Common Council of the Civil City of South
Bend, Indiana, and approval by the Mayor.
