ORDINANCE NO. 4961 -67
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
SALE OF CERTAIN LISTED ITEMS OF PERSONAL
PROPERTY BELONGING TO THE MUNICIPAL CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA
FOR A SUM NOT LESS THAN THE APPRAISED VALUE
OF SAID PERSONAL PROPERTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA:
SECTION I - Purpose
WHEREAS, items listed on Exhibit "A" attached and made a
part hereof, are considered to be of no further use to the City
of South Bend, and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has the power to enact an
ordinance to authorize the alienation and conveyance of any
property, real or personal, belonging to the City, providing
that the property is first appraised by three disinterested
freeholders appointed by the Judge of the Circuit Court,
NOW THEREFORE, this ordinance is passed permitting and
authorizing the appraisal and sale of said items to the highest
bidder or combination of bidders for a sum not less than the
appraised value of said items.
SECTION II
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption by the Common Council of the City of South
Bend, Indiana, its approval by the Mayor, and compliance with
all statutory regulations.
