Agenda: Bill 61 -13 — Rezone 736 California, 906, 908 & 910 Portage Ave.
Tim Scott opened his Zoning & Annexation Committee with all members in attendance.
Just one bill was on the schedule for review. Bill 61 -13 was a petition to rezone properties at 906, 908 &
910 Portage and 736 California. Because this project is sponsored by the Near Northwest Neighborhood
Organization of which Tim Scott's wife is President, he recused himself from the hearing.
Vice -Chair Henry Davis conducted the hearing. He began by asking for and receiving committee
approval to consider substitute bill 61 -13. The appropriate motion approved by all was made by Derek
Dieter and seconded by Gavin Ferlic.
Cristal Brisco reported the petition and site plan had been approved by the Area Plan Commission (APC)
staff and had received a favorable recommendation from the Commission. The only contingency was a
signed formal parking agreement NNW to access parking in a lot they own across the street from the
proposed apartment project.
Mike Danch making the formal presentation addressed the parking issue as one resolved if not yet
signed. He proceeded to describe the forty three unit complex also having a 1,600 sq. ft. lunch counter
open to the public. All in all the total investment would top $ 9 million. (Site plan attached)
Gavin Ferlic motioned to recommend the sub bill favorably. Derek seconded and all affirmed.
Henry Davis adjourned the meeting at 3:54 P.M.
