ORDINANCE NO. 5051 -68
AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FROM
THE REDEVELOPMENT BOND FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF TEN
THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND SEVENTY -FIVE ($10,875.00)
DOLLARS, FOR THE PAYMENT OF INTEREST DUE ON THE
REDEVELOPMENT BOND ISSUE OF 1968.
WHEREAS, Certain extraordinary conditions have developed since
the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now
necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the
annual budget for the various functions of city government to
meet such extraordinary emergencies, and
WHEREAS, Additional funds are needed by the Department of
Redevelopment to assure its ability to properly perform its
function, and more specifically to provide funds for payment of
interest falling due in December 1968 on the Redevelopment Bond
Issue of 1968.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I. That for the expenses of the Department of
Redevelopment, and in particular for the payment of interest due
on the Redevelopment Bonds of 1968, there is hereby ap ropriated
from the Redevelopment Bond Fund the sum of $9 w.90 ol 8'7s7`°'
SECTION II.This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council, its approval by
the Mayor, legal publication, and the fulfillment of all statutory
requirements of emergency appropriations.

MEMO TO: COMMON COUNCIL
SUBJECT: ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION, REDEVELOPMENT BOND FUND
FROM THE
OFFICE OF THE CONTROLLER
At the time the Redevelopment Bond Fund levy was developed for
the year 1969, provision was made for an additional appropriation
in the amount of $10,875. Please refer to page 90 of the 1969
budget, line number 3. It is necessary to appropriate this amount
through an ordinance of the City Council.
Redevelopment Bonds of 1968 were approved and sold after the 1968
budget was prepared. Statutes regarding Redevelopment Bonds re-
quire that interest payments are due January 1. Therefore, the
amount requested needs to be appropriated by December, 1968.
