I ~ ~ ~'~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, APPROPRIATING $24,800.00 FROM THE MORRIS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER IMPROVEMENT FUND (FUND NUMBER 416) STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT The Morris Performing Arts Center Improvement Fund (Fund No. 416) was established for the purpose of renovating, remodeling, or otherwise improving the facilities at the Morris Performing Arts Center. The Morris Performing Arts Center desires to make certain capital improvements that will enhance its status as an efficient, updated, performing arts facility. These proposed capital expenditures include $15,550.00 for Box Office Software and Computer Equipment that will provide for prompt and accurate service to our patrons in light of our expanding event calendar; $3,250.00 for an upgrade to our sound wiring system that will produce a more user-friendly sound console; and an automatic floor scrubber for $6,000.00 that will better maintain all scrubbable floor areas, as well as holding down the number of full-time employees necessary for that function. The Common Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the City of South Bend to appropriate the requested funds from the Morns Civic Improvement Fund (Fund No. 416) for the requested purchase of new and upgraded equipment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: Section I. The following sums of money are hereby appropriated and ordered set apart from and within the Morris Performing Arts Center Improvement Fund for the purchase of necessary equipment and licenses. Revenues from this fund are generated by the ticket surcharge and the fund is used exclusively for capital improvements such as renovation, remodeling, and specifically here, equipment to improve the facilities. The improvements for which the Morris Performing Arts Center desires appropriation consist of the following: $10,750.00 Box Office Software and Licenses. To comply with goals of increased customer satisfaction, two additional software licenses will be purchased, as will an upgrade to the ticketing software system. $ 4,800.00 Box Office Hazdwaze. As our customer base grows, the need for additional computers and printers is evident. Two additional computers and two ticket-printing printers. $ 3,250.00 Technical Equipment Upgrade. A multi-pin connector for the main audio console to prevent wire breakage and increase ease of usage for event personnel. A digital FX processor is also included to provide higher-quality sound to enhance our patrons' experience. $ 6,000.00 Maintenance Equipment. An automatic floor scrubber is to be purchased to better maintain the Lobby terrazzo floors, in addition to the floors backstage, basement, and interstitial areas, etc. Morris Performing Arts Center • 21 I N.
