AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO
ACCOUNT MVH -43, "REPAIR PARTS" IN THE AMOUNT OF
$9,000 AND THE TRANSFER OF SAID SUM FROM THE
FOLLOWING ACCOUNTS: ACCOUNT MVH -11, "SERVICES
PERSONAL" $4,200; ACCOUNT MVH -422, "SALT"
$2,800 AND ACCOUNT MVH- 722, "MOTOR EQUIPMENT"
$2,000 AND ALL ACCOUNTS BEING IN THE MOTOR
VEHICLE HIGHWAY FUND.
WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed
since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is
now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the
annual budget for the various functions of city government to meet
such extraordinary conditions; and,
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the Street Depart-
ment to assure the department's ability to properly perform its
functions.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I. That the sum of $4,200 be transferred from
Account MVH -117"Services Personal ", and transferred and
appropriated to Account MVH -43, "Repair Parts" both accounts
being within the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund.
SECTION II. That the sum of $2,800 be transferred from
Account MVH -422, "Salt ", and transferred and appropriated to
Account MVH -43 "Repair Parts" both accounts being within the
Motor Vehicle Highway Fund.
SECTION III. That the sum of $2,000 be transferred from
Account MVH -722, "Motor Equipment ", and transferred and
appropriated to Account MVH -43, "Repair Parts" both accounts
being within the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund.
SECTION IV. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, its
approval by the Mayor, legal publication and the fulfillment of
all statutory requirements of emergency appropriations.

The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full.
Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion that the Ordinance be set for public
hearing on August 12, 1968. Councilman Grounds seconded the motion. Motion
carried.

This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance,
proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon.
Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable.
Councilman Laven seconded the motion. Motion carried.
