AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $300.00 FROM THE GENERAL
FUND TO ACCOUNT B -212, "POSTAGE" AND $1,500.00 FROM
THE GENERAL FUND TO ACCOUNT B -242, "PUBLICATION OF
9 -23 -68 LEGAL NOTICES ", BOTH ACCOUNTS BEING IN THE OFFICE
OF CITY CONTROLLER.
WHEREAS, Certain extraordinary conditions have developed
since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it
is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated
in the annual budget for the various functions of City government
to meet such extraordinary emergencies, and
WHEREAS, Additional funds are needed by the Office of City
Controller to assure its ability to properly perform its function,
and more specifically to provide funds:
a. to pay the increased cost of postage
occasioned by the increase in postal
rates, and
b. to pay the increased cost of legal
advertising occasioned by the in-
crease in volume and increase in
Publication rates.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I. That for the expenses of the Office of City
Controller, and in particular Account B -212, "Postage" and Account
B -242, "Publication of Legal Notices ", there is a need for
additional funds, and therefore there is hereby appropriated from
the General Fund the following:
a. to Account B -212, "Postage" the sum
of $300.00, and
b. to Account B -242, "Publication of Legal
Notices" the sum of $1,500.00.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council, its approval
by the Mayor, legal publication, and the fulfillment of all
statutory requirements of emergency appropriations.
