AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION
FROM THE GENERAL FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $2302.95
TO ACCOUNT P -722, "MOTOR EQUIPMENT" IN THE
SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed
since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now
necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the
annual budget for the various functions of City Government to meet
such extraordinary conditions; and
VKHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the South Bend
Police Department for Motor Equipment and to assure the department's
ability to properly perform its functions, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I. That for additional expenses incidental to the
South Bend Police Department, there is hereby appropriated from the
General Fund to the following account:
Account P -722, "Motor Equipment ", the sum of $2,302.95
SECTION II, This Ordinance shall be in full force and ef-
fect from and after its passage by the Common Council, its approval
by the Mayor, and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements of
emergency appropriations.

Gentlemen:
I would like to request a fund transfer of $2302.95 from the General
Fund to P -722 Motor Equipment, to replace the Motorcycle wh•;ch was
damaged in an accident on September 22, 1969.
The cost of a new 1970 Harley Davidson F.L.P. motorcycle is $2302.95.
Foley Adjusting Service has indicated they would pay $650.00 trade
in value since damage was in excess of $750.00. This $650.00 is to
be paid into the General Fund.
