HomeMy WebLinkAboutAdditional Appropriations General Park $25,314.03ORDINANCE No. 5096 -69 Passed by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, August 11, �69 Presented by me to the Mayor of the City of South Bend, Approved and signed by August 12, ,,,69 J Clerk of Common Council Clerk IDEAL 0011MIRD PRESS ORDINANCE NUMBER 5096 -69 AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRI- ATION FROM THE GENERAL PARK FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $259314.03 TO ACCOUNTS 2529 2619 323,.3719 41,439 442, 722 & 726 WHEREAS, on the 26th day of March, 1969 a bolt of lightening struck the maintenance building at ELbel Golf Course, owned and operated by the De- partment of Public Parks, City of South Bend, causing a major "fire which destroyed the building, equipment and supplies, and WHEREAS, such building, equipment and supplies are needed for the effi- cient operation and maintenance of said golf course, and WHEREAS, the 1969 Park Department budget does not include funds available for the replacement of the building, equipment and supplies lost in said fire, and WHEREAS, the building, equipment and supplies lost in the fire were covered by insurance and checks from the insurance company in the amount of $25014.03 were deposited in the General Park Fund, now therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: Section I. That for said fiscal year there is hereby appropriated out of and from the General Park Fund and the following specified amounts to meet such extraordinary emergencies as follows, to -wit: 1. Account 252, designated as Services Contractual, Repairs to Equipment $2,000.00 2. Account 2619 designated as Serdices Contractual, Other Contractual Services 20000.00 3• Account 3239 designated as Supplies, Tires & Tubes 19600.00 4. Account 3719 designated as Supplies, Chemicals, Spray Materials & Fertilizer 19000.00 5. Account 41, designated as Materials, Building 4000.00 6. Account 439 designated as Materials, Repair Parts 39000.00 7. Account 442, designated as Materials, General Park Materials 29000.00 8. Account 722, designated as Properties, Motor Equipment 69500.00 9. Account 726, designated as Properties, Other Equipment 29714.03 Section II. NO. 5096-69 ORDINANCES, FIRST AND SECOND READING July 28, 1969 The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion that the Ordinance be set for public hearing August 11, 1969. Councilman Grounds seconded the motion. Motion carried. COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING August 11, 1969 This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Mr. James R. Seitz, Assistant Superintendent of the Park Department, spoke in favor of the Ordinance and explained the need for the appropriation. Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion that the Ordinance go to the council as favorable. Councilman Craven seconded the motion. Motion carried. REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE August 11 1969 To the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FROM THE GENERAL PARK FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,314.03 TO ACCOUNTS 252, 261, 323, 371, 41, 43, 442, 722 & 726." Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. /s/ William W.
