ORDINANCE NO. 5081 -69
AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION
TO ACCOUNT P -23, "INSTRUCTION" IN THE AMOUNT
OF $500.00 AND THE TRANSFER OF SAID SUM FROM
ACCOUNT P -11, "SERVICES PERSONAL" AND FOR AN
ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO ACCOUNT P -213,
"TRAVEL EXPENSE ", IN THE AMOUNT OF $2000.00
AND THE TRANSFER OF SAID SUM FROM ACCOUNT
P -11, "SERVICES PERSONAL ", IN THE POLICE DE-
PARTMENT, ALL BEING WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND.
WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed since
the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now necessary to
appropriate more money than was appropriated in the annual budget for the
various functions of city government to meet such extraordinary conditions,
and,
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the South Bend Police
Department to assure the department's ability to properly perform its
functions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I. That the sum of $500.00 be transferred from Account
P -11, "Services Personal ", and transferred and appropriated to Account
P -23, "Instruction ", both accounts being within the General Fund.
SECTION II. That the sum of $2000.00 be transferred from Account
P -11, "Services Personal ", and transferred and appropriated to Account P -213,
"Travel Expense ", both accounts being within the General Fund.
SECTION III. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council, its approval by the Mayor
and publication, as required by law.

Present day demands on increased training in specialized fields require
greater use of the two budgets. Traveling for various program investigations
