ORDINANCE NO, 5079 -69 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 25 -60 OF SECTION 59 OF CHAPTER 29 OF THE CODE OF 1949, AS AMENDED INDIANA: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CONUON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, SECTION I. That Section 25 -60 of Section 59 of Chapter 29 of the Code of 1949, as amended, is hereby further amended to read as follows: (a) Parking or standing a vehicle in a designated space in a park- ing meter zone shall be lawful for twelve minutes upon deposit of a}- one. cent coin, thirty minutes upon the deposit of one five -cent coin, sixty min- utes upon the deposit of two five -cent coins. All meters over one hour shall be two five -cent coins per hour. It shall be unlawful to remain parked in any such parking space beyond the parking time limit set for such parking space. (b) Such parking meters shall be operated in the parking meter zone between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. an any Tuesday, Wednesday, Thurs- day, Friday and Saturday and between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. on any Monday, except holidays; provided, that within the meaning of this divi- sion, the term "holiday" shall include the following days only: The first day of January, the thirtieth day of May, the Fourth of July, the first Mon- day in September, the twenty -fifth day of December, and the day designated and set aside by the President of the United States as a day of Thanksgiving, SECTION:II, This ordinance shall be in full force and effect on July 1, 1969, after its adoption by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, its ap- proval by the Mayor and publication, as required by law. Phone: (219) 288 -9161 This appropriation is necessary, subject to the passage of this Ordinance because these meters cannot be corrected to comply with its provisions on parking meter rates.
