AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING 560,000 WITHIN THE U.D.A.G. FUND
(FUND 410) OF THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING PREDEVELOPMENT
COSTS FOR POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS WITHIN THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND
Statement of Purpose and Intent:
In order to assure the efficient and timely utilization of Urban Development Action
Grant Reimbursement Funds and to further the implementation of the redevelopment
plans within the City, certain appropriations are necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I. The sum of 560,000 is hereby appropriated within Fund 410 for the
Department of Community and Economic Development for calendar year 2002.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage by the Common Council and a~pproval_ by the Mayor.

The attached bill for your consideration and approval will appropriate an additional
560,000 of Urban Development Action Grant reimbursement funds for Predevelopment
costs for pending development projects within the City. As Jon Hunt has discussed with
you previously, this specific appropriation will primarily fund the community development
strategy.
