AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9, SEC-
TION 9 -2, ORDINANCE NUMBER 4381 -61,
9 1, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, PROVIDING FOR
THE ADOPTION OF A BASIC BUILDING CODE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I. That Ordinance Number 4381 -61, § 1, being Sec-
tion 9 -2 of Chapter 9 of the Municipal Code of the City of South
Bend, Indiana, be,and hereby is, amended to read as follows:
Basic Building Code -- Adoption
The 1970 edition of the "Basic Building Code ", as
promulgated by the Building Officials Conference of America,
Inc., four copies of which are on file with the city clerk
and thereby made available for public scrutiny, is hereby
adopted as the official Building Code of the city, except
for such changes, additions or deletions as are apecified
in this chapter.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and ef-
fect from and after its passage by the Common Council, its ap-
proval by the Mayor and publication as required by law.
