An Ordinance Affecting a Tract of Land Located on the East Side
of Ironwood Road immediately South of and adjacent to the existing
boundary of the City of South Bend, Indiana, in the vicinity of
Topsfield Addition.
ORDINANCE NO. 5183 -70
An Ordinance Amending and Supplementing
Ordinance 4990 - Chapter 40 of Municipal
Code (Formerly Zoning Ordinance 3702). AS AMENDED.
Be it enacted by the Common Council of the City of
South Bend, Indiana that:
Section 1 - Ordinance 4990 Chapter 40 of the Municipal
Code (formerly Zoning Ordinance 3702) of the City of South Bend,
Indiana be and the same is hereby amended, supplemented, and
changed to provide that the following described real estate
located in the City of South Bend, Indiana, to -wit:
Commencing at the Northwest corner of the Southwest
Quarter (4) of the Southwest Quarter (4) of
Section 20, Township 37 North, Range 3 East; thence
East along the present south city limits a distance
of one thousand five hundred (1,500) feet; thence
South a distance of four hundred thirty -five and
sixty hundredths (435.60) feet; thence West a
distance of one thousand five hundred (1,500) feet
to a point on the West line of said Section 20
which is four hundred thirty -five and sixty hun-
dredths (435.60) feet South of the place of beginning
and also the present West city limits; thence North
a distance of four hundred thirty -five and sixty
hundredths (435.60) feet along the present West
city limit line to the place of beginning, containing
fifteen (15) acres.

District Regulation classification and "A" Height and Area in
its Height and Area District classification.
Section 2 - This Ordinance is to be in full force and
effect from and after its enactment, the approval of the Mayor,
and its publication according to

Re: East side of Ironwood
Topsfield Subdivision
The attached rezoning petition of recently annexed land
originated by the Area Plan Commission was legally advertised
under date of March 21 and March 28, 1970 and was given public
hearing on March 310 1970.
After due consideration, it was moved, seconded and
unanimously carried that the ordinance be recommended
favorably to the Common Council.
The deliberations of the Area Plan Commission and points
considered in arriving at the above decision are shown in
the excerpts of the minutes attached hereto and made a part
of this report.
