<br />WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed
<br />since the adoption of the 1971 annual budget so that it is now
<br />necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the
<br />annual budget for the various functions of City Government to meet
<br />such extraordinary conditions; and
<br />WHEREAS, Vacation Resolution No. 3331 is pending before
<br />the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend for
<br />the vacation of certain streets and alleys within Industrial
<br />Expansion Project, IND. R -56; and

<br />WHEREAS, a determination has been made that it is desirable
<br />to construct cul -de -sacs for Chapin Street and Catalpa Street for
<br />turn around space before Vacation Resolution No. 3331 is adopted; and
<br />WHEREAS, funds were not appropriated in the 1971 budget of
<br />the Department of Redevelopment for this purpose; and
<br />WHEREAS, a surplus does exist in the Redevelopment Fund,
<br />therefore,
<br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South
<br />Bend, Indiana:
<br />SECTION I. That for additional expenses incidental to
<br />the Department of Redevelopment, there is hereby appropriated from
<br />the Redevelopment Fund to the following account:
<br />a. Account No. 261, "Other Contractual Services ",
<br />the sum of $9,000.bO.
<br />SECTION II. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
<br />effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, its approval
<br />by the Mayor and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements for
<br />emergency appropriations.
