ORDINANCE NO. 5266 -71
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
WATER WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
AND A. H. CHOITZ & CO., INC. OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) 1971 JOHN
DEERE MODEL JD301, 40 H.P. TRACTOR IN THE AMOUNT
OF $2,591.55.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA:
SECTION I: That the contract entered into between the Water Works of
the City of South Bend, Indiana and A. H. Choitz & Co., Inc. of South
Bend, Indiana, on the 4th day of January 1971, pursuant to advertising
and receipt of bids for the purchase of one (1) John Deere Model JD301,
40 H.P. Tractor in the amount of $2,591.55, is hereby approved and
confirmed.
SECTION II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption and approval by the Mayor.

RE: Water Works Tractor
FROM: John L. Hunter, Director of Utilities
This unit was bid through the Board of Public Works and Safety.
Three bids were received. The bid of A. H. Choitz & Co., Inc. was
the low bid. We recommended to the Water Works Commissioners that
this bid be accepted. On January 4 the Board entered into a contract
with A. 11. Choitz & Co., Inc. to purchase this tractor.
Unit No. 52, a 1952 Ford Tractor, will be traded in for this unit.
The new unit will be used for maintenance of all water facility lawnis,
retention basins, etc.
