AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA AND GATES CHEVROLET, INCORPORATED
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE
(1) 1971 CHEVROLET TRUCK IN THE AMOUNT OF
$3,085.00.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA:
SECTION I: That the contract entered into between the Wastewater
Treatment Plant of the City of South Bend, Indiana and Gates Chevrolet,
Incorporated of South Bend, Indiana, on the 4th day of January 1971,
pursuant to advertising and receipt of bids for the purchase of one
(1) 1971 Chevrolet 10,000 GVW Cab and Chassis in the amount of $3,085.00,
is hereby approved and confirmed.
SECTION II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption and approval by the Mayor.

Bids were accepted through the Board of Public Works and Safety.
Gates Chevrolet, Incorporated is the low bidder on this 10,000 GVW

Cab and Chassis with a figure of $3,085. We recommended to the Board

of Wastewater Treatment Plant Commissioners that they accept this bid.
R A contract was entered into on January 4.

This unit will be used as a rodder truck and is mainly used on emergency
sewer repairs. We are trading a 1958 GMC truck in on this unit
i
y registering in excess of 75,000 when the speedometer broke. It needs

extensive repairs.
