ADDITION TO THE AGENDA
Mr. Bodnar noted the addition to the agenda of a request for a hearing by Corporal Christopher
Houser.
APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS
President Alford advised that if there were no objections by members of the Board, the minutes of
the Public Agenda Session, Executive Session, and Regular meetings of the Board held on July 9,
2008 would be accepted and approved,

- Mr. Kyle Patrick Drury
- Mr. William Kenneth Akin
Mr. John Voorde, City Clerk, was present and administered the Oath of Office to the above list
individuals. Mayor Stephen Luecke was present and welcomed the candidates to the City and

conaratulated them on their choice of profession. The Board congratulated them and wished th
well in their endeavors with the South Bend Police Department.

ACCEPT AND FILE DONATIONS TO SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT
Chief Boykins, Police Department, advised the Board of generous donations from two (2) South
Bend citizens, made to the South Bend Police Department Summer Tennis Program, of twenty -five
($25.00) and forty ($40.00) dollars. There being no further discussion, the donations were accepted
and filed.

POLICE DEPARTMENT
President Alford informed the Board that Corporal Christopher Houser was requesting a hearing of
the disciplinary charges filed against him for refusal to follow policy of the Department's Mobile
Video/Audio Recording section of the Duty Manual, as well as being insubordinate to a commanding
officer, and refusing to follow direct orders. The disciplinary action recommended by Chief Boykins
included:
