ORDINANCE NO. 5264 -71
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA AND INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER COM-
PANY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE PURCHASE
OF EQUIPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $9,887.65.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA:
SECTION I: That the contract entered into between the Wastewater
Treatment Plant of South Bend, Indiana and International Harvester
Company of South Bend, Indiana, on the 4th day of January 1971 in
the amount of $9,887.65 is hereby approved and confirmed.

RE: Wastewater Treatment Plant Truck Purchases
FROM: John L. Hunter, Director pf Utilities
Equipment outlined in the attached ordinance was bid through the
Board of Public Works and Safety in their city -wide bidding program.
The successful bidder on these four units is International Harvester
Company. We recommended to the Board of Wastewater Treatment Plant
Commissioners on January 4 that we purchase these Four units. Inter-
national Harvester is low bidder on the last two items in this ordi-
nance and the only bidder on the first item in the ordinance.
Item one, a 7500 GVW Model 1210 Travelette Crew Cab Pick Up Truck,
will be used to replace Unit No. 207 presently handling the drag
machines and crew. Unit 207 will be used in our new Catch Basin
Program.
The two 5000 GVW Pick Up Trucks will replace Unit No. 219 with mileage
of 75,955. This unit is used by our Sewer Department supervisor. He
also has the responsibility of replacing sewer and manhole covers.
The other unit will be used by our maintenance crew to service our
drag machines and other equipment on,the street.
The 7000 GVN7 Model 1210 Cab and Chassis replaces Unit No. 203. This
unit accumulated 71,817 miles as of August 1, 1970. The new unit will
be used for the repair and maintenance of our lift stations and diver-
sion chambers.
