ORDINANCE NO. 5319 -71
AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE ANNUAL PAY OF
FIREMEN FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 1972
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I. The annual pay of the officers and members
of the fire force of the City of South Bend for the year 1972,
by rank and classification, shall be as follows:
Chief
$14,456.00
Assistant Chief
11,900.00
Battalion Chief
11,117.00
Captain
10,227.00
Lineman
10,227.00
Lieutenant
9,893.00
Engineer
9,225.00
Fireman First Class
8,558.00
Fireman
8,001.00
Fireman in Training
7,445.00
SECTION II. In addition to the foregoing annual pay,
the officers and members of the fire force shall receive compen-
sation for extra duty and special performance as follows:
For recall or overtime pay, $5.00 per hour;
For regularly assigned drivers of fire trucks and
other heavy equipment, $180.00 per year;
For regularly assigned scuba divers, $180.00 per year;
For all personnel required to work on legal holidays,
$32.00 per holiday worked; this shall apply to the following
holidays and no others:
New Year's Day Labor Day
Lincoln's Birthday Columbus Day
Washington's Birthday Veterans Day
Good Friday Thanksgiving
Memorial Day Christmas
Fourth of July
SECTION III. This ordinance shall be in force and
effect for the calendar year commencing January 1, 1972, and
ending December 31, 1972.
