ORDINANCE NO. 5214 -70
AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE ANNUAL PAY OF
FIREMEN FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 1971
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows:
SECTION 1: The annual pay of the officers
of the fire force of the City of South Bend for the
by rank and classification, shall be as follows:
Chief

Assistant Chief
11,333.00
Battalion Chief
10,588.00
Captain
9,740.00
Lineman
9,740.00
Lieutenant
9,422.00
Engineer
8,786.00
Fireman First Class
8,150.00
Fireman
7,620.00
Fireman in Training
7,090.00
and members
year 1971,
SECTION 2: In addition to the foregoing annual pay,
the officers and members of the fire force shall receive com-
pensation for extra duty and special performance as follows:
For recall or overtime pay, $5.00 per hour;
For regularly assigned drivers of fire trucks and
other heavy equipment, $180.00 per year;
For regularly assigned scuba divers, $180.00 per
year;
$ 3 2.06or all personnel required to work on legal holi-
days, $9-9 -86 per holiday worked; this shall apply to the
following holidays and no others:
New Year's Day Labor Day
Lincoln's Birthday Columbus Day
Washington's Birthday Veterans Day
Good Friday Thanksgiving
Memorial Day Christmas
Fourth of July
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in force and
effect for the calendar year commencing January 1, 1971,
and ending December 31, 1971.
