BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: SECTION 1: The annual pay of the officers and members of the police force of the City of South Bend for the year 1971, by rank and classification, shall be as follows: Chief $13,768.00 Division Chief 11,333.00 Captain 10,588.00 Lieutenant 10,040.00 Sergeant 9,740.00 Corporal 8,998.00 First Class Patrolman 8,362.00 Patrolman 7,726.00 Officer in Training 7,090.00 Fe44ee Gadet 9,999.99 (delete) SECTION 2: In addition to the foregoing annual pay, the officers and members of the police force shall re- ceive compensation for extra duty and special performance as follows: For time spent in Court appearances and for over- time work - $5.00 per hour; g32 op For personnel required to work on legal holidays, $-3E3-3fr per holiday worked; this shall apply to the following eleven holidays and no others: New Year's Day Labor Day Lincoln's Birthday Columbus Day Washington's Birthday Veterans Day Good Friday Thanksgiving Memorial Day Christmas Fourth of July Education Incentive, to be paid in addition to the annual pay and all other compensation, as follows: For a bachelor's degree from an accredited four - year college or university, or equivalent, $1500.00 per year; For an associate paper or 2 year degree or equiva- lent, in an appropriate course of study, $900.00 per year; For hours of credit in acceptable and appropriate college -level courses of study, $10.00 per year per credit - hour for from one to sixty credit hours, and $5.00 per year per credit -hour for all credit hours in excess of sixty up to a maximum of 120 credit hours.
